
Software Integration Engineer
JOB OVERVIEW
We are looking for a Software Integration Engineer to play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability and successful deployment of our integrated software solutions.
Working closely with Software Developers, Technical Product Owners, System Engineers, Testers and Technical Support Engineers, you will validate complex software solutions, identify issues before they impact customers, and contribute to delivering reliable, high-quality products.
This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated applications focused on data organisation, analysis, visualisation and user experience, while helping to improve software quality, supportability and operational reliability.
Duties and responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:
- Build, maintain and manage replicated production environments for testing and defect investigation.
- Validate complex software solutions and configurations across multi-tier environments against business and technical requirements.
- Assess software version compatibility and deployment risks for upcoming releases.
- Manage end-to-end release validation and contribute to improving system reliability.
- Improve software supportability by acting as a bridge between Development and Operations teams.
- Analyse complex system dependencies to identify and mitigate change-related risks.
- Map dependencies across complex systems to de-risk by predicting change impact.
- Maintain configuration and version parity between test and production environments.
- Log, track and prioritise software anomalies from discovery to validation.
- Perform root-cause analysis on software defects and production incidents.
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Minimum:
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in software testing, software integration or quality assurance.
Advantageous
- ISTQB or ISEB Certification.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Required Skills:
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, system testing and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Experience with test planning, execution and defect management.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Linux proficiency.
- Experience working with Python, SQL and/or Bash.
- Experience with version control and collaboration tools such as Git, Bitbucket, Jira and Confluence.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience testing complex enterprise software applications.
- Experience with telecommunications technologies or protocols.
- Experience with virtualisation technologies such as Proxmox or Podman.
- Familiarity with tools such as DBeaver, pgAdmin, Visual Studio Code, Windows and MacOS.
