Finance Manager
JOB OVERVIEW
As Finance Manager you will be reporting to the CFO.
You will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities for a medium sized group of companies, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and analysis. This role ensures compliance with financial regulations, provides strategic financial guidance, and works to optimize the company's financial performance and strategic position.
Duties and responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:
Financial Management
- Tax advice and management (Key support to existing inhouse tax practitioner)
- Financial advice to the business
- Management of the entire Financial Function of the group, some through overseeing staff deliverables and some through own delivery:
– Develop and manage annual forecasts and budgets
– Analyse financial performance against budgets and forecasts
– Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making
– External audit management
– Treasury Management
– Authorisation and review
– Oversee:
▪ Financial reporting
▪ All aspects of transactional accounting (creditors, debtors, expense claims, small stock, insurance etc.)
▪ Compliance/returns (CIPC, direct and indirect taxation)
Team Leadership
- Manage small team in order to maximize engagement, performance and deliverables
- Provide professional support to employees through mentorship
- Ensure that roles and responsibilities of all team members are clear and understood
- Create clear KPIs for team members that will be used for performance feedback
- Manage the performance of the team through constant individual feedback
- Assist in creating personal development plan for each employee
- Ensure company and team strategy is clear and understood by team members
Specific Assistance to CFO
- Contract review and revision as well as opinion where required
- Small Acquisitions/start ups (including due diligence)
- Property Management
- Tax strategy and structure plans
- Policy, procedure and process
- Must be prepared to potentially travel on a limited basis
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Min: CA (SA)
- 10+ Years
- Good ERP, process and systems knowledge and experience (Sage X3 beneficial)
- Strong Tax knowledge and technically current on legislation and practice
